It is easier to rush when rain
or when sun, whichever is the least
common. Laundry suns, the garden waits.
Hunger comes in many guises.
Mine is simpler, these days. Feel wicked
washing an out of season plum
in late March. In the meantime,
the strawberry plants raise up
their stalks and open white flowers
beckon each flying thing
to pollinate sweetness.
Impatient, we count
to calm our desire.
